I received this car from Mazda for a 7 day test drive. All opinions are my own.
I have a high schooler now which means college is very near! I do everything I can to make sure that my BabyGirl stays on the right track and is everywhere that she needs to be in terms of academics. I was so excited when she got accepted to Georgia Tech’s Summer STEM Program. Gaming and Applications was her course of choice and I wanted to make sure she got there everyday in style! We also used this week to cruise by a few other academic institutions.
2017 Mazda CX-5
Did I mention that this gorgeous vehicle came in SOUL Red Crystal Metallic? In other words my favorite color! I got to test drive the 2016 version of this model last year so I knew going in that I would be in love. Seriously, upon entering the vehicle I was immediately blown away by the cool white (parchment) leather seats. Just one of the many luxurious features.
Of course this car is classy and elegant with all of the bells and whistles like Dual Zone Auto A/C, 7-in. LCD Display, Blue Tooth Capability, Heated Seats, Power Moon Roof, etc.
The rain sensing wipers came in handy! Intermittent rain storms seem to be a frequent thing in Atlanta now.
The features that I enjoyed the most included all of the safety mechanisms that were put in place to make every drive in Atlanta traffic a smooth one. Trust me, we tested this vehicle out every morning in rush hour traffic just to see what it could do. These features are all very useful and perfect for navigating Atlanta traffic.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert
Smart City Brake Support
Lane Departure Warning
Lane Keep Assist
I won’t lie to you, my husband finds all of these features annoying and chose to disable most of them whenever he drove but not me. I love them and I needed them all! It took me a minute to learn to trust what the car was trying to tell me in traffic. Once I got comfortable with all of the different warning sounds and lights it was easy! As a matter a fact this car practically drives itself.
Another thing I love about the 2017 Mazda CX-5, a cross over vehicle, is that you get all the space but with a compact look. We had no problem loading and unloading large items in the spacious trunk. We let down the seats when necessary.
My family and I had a great time driving our daughter around to look at local colleges and more in the 2017 Mazda Cx-5. When it comes time for her to go we would be very comfortable packing all of her things and getting her there with this vehicle!
