This year’s Whiskies of the World Atlanta brought it’s A-Game to the city. As in previous years #WoWATL delivered premium whisky brands, whisky education, whisky pairings and more. Please believe me when I say this is one of my fav Atlanta events!
Originating in San Francisco, Whiskies of the World is now a series of five hugely popular whisky festivals taking place in California, Texas and Georgia. Whiskies of the World offers guests the opportunity to taste superlative whiskies and to meet the outstanding personalities of the whisky world. Featuring whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, the USA, Canada, Japan and Australia, Whiskies of the World will surprise even the most savvy connoisseur.
It was held at the Intercontinental Hotel Buckhead. I have attended for 3 years in a row and I am telling you that it just keeps getting better. This expo is for novices and experts alike. Let’s get into it. Here are my 10 reasons why Whiskies of the World Atlanta is a Must Do event.

WoW Dram Club
The Whiskies of the World Dram Club is a new addition to the Atlanta event. It a private club that allows its members to get up close and personal with a few select whisky brands. Find out what a “dram” is and what goes on at Dram Club.
Whisky Vendors
250 whisky vendors, makers and industry professionals in attendance all with their BEST whiskies for you to not just sample but also learn about the process and how the whisky came to be.
Whisky Tastings
Learn how to really taste whisky. What does your nose smell? What are the flavors present? How does it feel on the back of your throat? These are all questions that you should be asking yourself when tasting. The WoW App was available to help the real connoisseur keep track of what they were tasting
Nosh
The folks at Whiskies of the World know that liquor-drinking and tasting requires good food and lots of water. They made sure to have plenty of everything on hand. Large charcuterie tables and buffets filled with meat and non meat sandwiches.
Cigar Whisky Pairings
Not only do you get to learn which whiskies to pair with which cigars you also get to see them being hand-rolled by Honor Cigars. A lovely outdoor space was erected to accommodate this portion of Whiskies of the World.

Friends
Since this was my 3rd year in attendance many faces and brands have become familiar. However, there are no strangers at Whiskies of the World. It is the friendliest place on earth.
Fun
I mean what’s more fun than dressing up and drinking whisky with HUNDREDS of like minded people who are there to do the same thing?
Good Cause
This years WoWAtl event was to benefit North Atlanta Rotary Foundation: Service above self.
Tradition
Fall has always brought forth traditions like, Thanksgiving, Pumpkin Spice everything, hot apple cider and hayrides. Now Fall brings anticipation for new traditions like Whiskies of the World.
