The 2nd season on VH-1’s series Hit The Floor airs on Memorial Day! I was very excited to be invited out by Sheen Magazine to meet and greet one of the shows recurring stars Robert Riley. Robert Riley plays character Terrence Walls on the show. As an avid watcher of the 1st season I was honored to have this opportunity. Joined by several other Atlanta bloggers we spent the afternoon mingling at the beautiful Ernest Washington Studios on North Ave.
After screening parts of the premiere, we all got to get up close and personal with Mr Riley as he talked to us about his career, life and who he is as a person. He talked about his mom and his dog and how important they were to him. He listed some of his other talents which are: photography, music and cooking. He mentioned how much fun it was to work with Dean Cain. He talked about his stint on Broadway and what it was like to be on stage with James Earl Jones. After letting him know that I was a former high school cheerleader, I asked him where he draws from to play the character “Terrence Walls” (who I thought was a bit arrogant and prickish.) Terrence Walls is the number 1 player on the fictitious NBA team, “The Devils”. He said that there is a tiny bit of Terrence in him. When asked what advice he would give to young actors and actresses he simply said:
If you don’t love it…don’t do it
We were lucky to get to see a performance by up and coming girl group Havok Jones Music who sang an old En Vogue favorite “Don’t Let Go” a capella for Rob Riley!! We all got to listen in.
Robert has a spoken word album coming out soon that he is excited about and I am lookjing forward to checking it out.. He was VERY cool to listen to and to talk to, and I really enjoyed his presence. We had a good time.
