International Shea Butter Convention ~ Atlanta

The 9th Annual International Shea Butter Convention will take place on October 13th – 15th, 2011 at the Georgia International Convention Center here in Atlanta, GA.


Our Natural Kids is honored to be invited to take part by participating in The Shea Works Initiative ~ A Math & Science Literacy Project on October 15th from 2p – 4p. (registration begins at 1:30p!)


The Shea Works Initiative is for children in grades 5 – 8 AND Free w/their parents.


If you are in Atlanta please support this event! You DO NOT have to be a member of Our Natural Kids to participate!  Just come on out and learn with us!!

There will be a Shea Market, Natural Hair Show and Cultural Celebration directly AFTERwards (about 30 min after) which is also FREE!

  1. Hi Sistah Chick! I have a question. I have used Mixed Chicks Leave-in, Giovanni Leave-in, and Paul Mitchell Leave-in. After my hair dries, in a day or so it becomes very dry and crunchy. I use a butter at night to moisturize it. However, I watched one of your videos and you mentioned that you applied an oil to seal in the moisture as your hair dried. I have not been doing that. What oil do you use? Do you just rub it between your hands and apply it before your hair is totally dry? Thank you much! Irene Steele

  2. Hi Irene,

    I use either jojoba oil or extra virgin olive oil. I just rub it together and smooth it on my hair AFTER i put in my leave in condish. I then let it dry like that. Hope this helps. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment!
