You might say that I am trying to be a permanent fixture at Culinary Fight Club events. At some point each month you will find me there, Periscoping Live, Tweeting and Instagramming. I really love being around this squad. I’m telling you the volunteers and various sponsors work so hard to put these events together.  Everyone is so friendly and faces are becoming more and more familiar with each visit. This month was no different as Culinary Fight Club presented:  “Here’s The Beef” Cooking Competition. What was special about this competition is that it was an ALL girl battle bringing together some of Atlanta’s TOP female chefs.

Culinary Fight Club is a non profit organization that hosts cooking competitions all across the United States.  All of the proceeds go to Fight2Feed.org.  The venue generally provides Nosh and beer/wine.  The Chefs provide delicious bites for everyone to taste.  There are Judges Choices.  Attendees get tickets and get to make a Taster’s Choice decision on who the winners are by dropping their tickets in the ballot box of the chef of their choice.  Each event has a different theme.

Here’s The Beef (aka Where’s The Beef)

The theme tonight was of course BEEF that was provided by Beef on Georgia’s Mind.  This was exciting for me as all of the competitors were women.

Here is my Periscope Intro for the night!

For this event, the judges were:  Josh Ennis, Asia Hunter and Jennifer Mangon

And the ALL FEMALE Chef Contestants were:   Amber Johnson, Cherise Johnson, Iliana Cordero, Meredith Pittman.

Let me tell ya these chicks go hard!  They completely dominated during the Pantry Run which is where the Chefs actually RUN to the Pantry Table to grab things they need for their specific dish.  Since no one knows the exact content of the Pantry Table until the day of, its quite a frenzy.  This is one of my favorite parts of Culinary Fight Club Events.

Meet the Chefs and Hear what they will prepare!

They had 60 minutes to create a winning dish and every one completed their masterpieces  on time.  Everything that was prepared had to incorporate beef into the recipe.

The Plates

Can you believe that each one of these mouth watering plates were prepared in an hour in front of judges and a LIVE audience?

And the winner is…. Chef Iliana Cordero!!

Her Indian inspired dish consisted of a little steak with curry chimichurri and potato confit.

As usual Culinary Fight Club’s “Here’s The Beef” competition was so much fun.  I really enjoy hanging out with this group sharing laughs, great food and maybe a drink… or two!
