Looks for Fall at Bloomingdale’s presented by Refresh Leadership Circle

Looks for Fall at Bloomingdale’s presented by Refresh Leadership Circle was a very empowering fashion and leadership event.  I was happy to attend as an invited guest of Ekene Onu, Success Coach and Founder of Refresh Leadership Circle.  This event brought together a diverse group of women from all over in an intimate setting to talk about fashion trends and how your outer appearance, your style, can help or hinder your success.  I am not a fashion guru and I sets no trends but I do like know about the new Looks for Fall.  Bloomingdale’s is the perfect place to find out this information.

This event was beautiful with gorgeous bites and libations upon entry.

There was plenty of time to mingle before, during and after the fashion presentation. After a few introductory words from our host Ekene we met the General Manager of Bloomingdale’s, Alex Davis.   Ekene then gave us a very empowering talk on the power of Evocative & Provocative Presence and how to using your style to create intentional presence. This was a great segueway into a fashion presentation by Derek Bloomingdale’s Lead Style Advisor.

So what are some of the Looks For Fall that Derek recommended?

Tweed – A classic fabric when done right can be the perfect fall layer.  A nice lined tweed jacket can be worn with a skirt or paired with jeans and a low heel for a night out on the town

Velvet –  Another classic that is here to stay.  As Derek said, Fashion is a feeling.  Velvet feels and looks good.  Find the fit that works for you.  On this day we were shown an above the knee velvet dress.  Super cute if worn with textured hose or tights.

Paisley – It never gets old.  I remember wearing it in the 80’s so I am happy to see its “back”. Whether its a jean or a jacket paisley is here to stay.

All of the looks that were presented were versatile and friendly for all sizes. Besides the statement tweeds, velvets and paisley we were shown adorable lbd’s made using stretchy and breathable fabrics. Flowy blouses and bold bags to accessorize.  Even though no plus sizes were shown to us suggestions were given on where these looks could be found in plus size.  Our SWAG included a NARS Lipstick, Primer and Bronzer Sample.

I always like to meet new people and this was a great place to do that.  Ekene’s energy is so positive that you cant help but bask in the glow that she gives off.  I left feeling uplifted and upbeat.  Refresh Leadership Circle is led by Ekenu Onu and she hosts fabulous retreats and empowering events all over the world.  I hope to attend one of the retreats one day.  To find out more about this movement visit RefreshLeaderhshipCircle.com
