The 2015 Coca Cola Pay It Forward Academy took place in Atlanta on July 23 – 26 and was hosted by none other than media mogul Steve Harvey.
The Coca Cola Pay it Forward Academy embodies the spirit of giving back by helping our teens to reach greater heights through education.
20 deserving teens were selected from thousands to attend the academy and each also won a 5,000 scholarship. The attendees and their parent/guardian were treated to 3 days of mentorship, leadership and more. The kids received tours of the World of Coca Cola plus made a trip to Coca Cola Headquarters. They also got to see the CNN Center and traveled to the National Center For Civil and Human Rights Museum. They participated in workshops such as: Social Media Branding and What’s Your Elevator Pitch. The What’s Your Elevator Pitch workshop took place at The Whole World Improv Theatre and the piece de resistance was when media mogul Steve Harvey walked in and totally surprised the kids! This very special appearance and face to face session was an absolute surprise to them and you could see it on their faces.

Mr. Harvey very eloquently laid out 3 ways to identify your gifts and utilize them to make your dreams come true!
1. Use your imagination to identify your gift. Your gift is the thing you do best witht he least amount of effort.
2. Become passionate about your gift. Do whatever you do to the best of your ability because you never know who is watching.
3. Write your goals and dreams down. If your dreams and goals are not written down you will not get them (Habbakuk 2:2)
There was SO much more that he said. He dropped gems that only video could capture.
After his session with the Coca Cola Pay It Forward recipients, Steve Harvey sat down with a few us to talk about a little bit more about life, Coco Cola Pay It Forward, vision, dreams, family you name it. We got to get upfront and personal with the man behind the empire. He was so candid, open and HUMBLE freely dropping gems that could take anyone in the room to the next level.

As you can see Steve Harvey is a giver. He gives freely of his money, his time and his advice. He was very friendly and real down to earth. It was like talking to your favorite uncle! He gave us valuable information that we can implement right now. He is the richest man that I have ever spoken to and I am not gonna lie the entire experience was surreal. I came to cover the event for this blog and ended up getting blessed myself! Receiving face to face advice from someone of this caliber is definitely something that I will always remember. I love seeing kids happy and all of the children that were involved in Coca Cola Pay It Forward Academy seemed blown away and most say that this is an occasion that they will never forget.
As an official blogger for the Steve Harvey Act Like Success Conference that happened back in March, I was really eager to finally get to meet Mr. Harvey as well as speak to him face to face so this was really a dream come true.
