Kids Dreaming Big With Dream Kids & My Wish For My Child #KidsDreamingBig

I am honored to be selected as a Dream Kids Ambassador for African Pride Dream Kids #KidsDreamingBig Campaign

Dream Kids Scholarship Program

One of the things that I love about working with African Pride/Dream Kids is that they really care about the future of our children.  They prove this by constantly offering products and programs that can help our kids learn to believe in the beauty of their dreams.  As a mom of 4 ( 3 boys and 1 girl) I also have wishes and dreams for my children, specifically my tween daughter.  My dream for her is that she will one day be able to exist in a world where her own race will not judge her by the tone of her skin or the texture of her hair but by the content of her character.  A world where she will be able to see positive images of African American females that come in ALL shades of Black.  My wish for her is that one day her beauty will not be identified by her lightness or her darkness and that she never have to hear these words again:  “You are pretty…to be so dark”.  Colorism is a mental disease in the Black community.  It is a remnant of slavery and I wish that we as a people would make it go away so that all children can feel comfortable in their skin no matter the shade.  That is one of the wishes that I have for my child. Thank you African Pride for caring about the dreams of our children.
