Africa Miranda - Girls With Curls

I had an awesome time with Ms. Africa Miranda at her Girls With Curls event sponsored by ORS Curls Unleashed and Sunny’s Hair & Wigs. She was there for a quick Q&A hosted by The Skky Brand CEO & Entertainment Socialite DiDi Skky and also to launch her Girls with Curls Initiative. I admit that when I first met Africa at Blogalicious 5 I did not know who she was. At that time I had never watched Bravo’s “The New Atlanta”. All I know is that … Continue reading

The One World Doll Project featuring The Cynthia Bailey Prettie Girl’s! Collector’s Doll

It was so cool getting to meet Ms. Cynthia Bailey of Real Housewives of Atlanta at Blogalicious. She was very warm and patient with us as we posed for pics and all acted like we know her personally because we see her on TV. (Heeey Cynthia!) I was even more excited to learn that she has inspired a new doll that has been fashioned in her image by The One World Doll Project. The One World Doll Project is multicultural fashion play dolls created by … Continue reading

Why is Our Natural Hair Unacceptable?

Here we go again folks. Another little child suffers the consequences of wearing her hair natural. Apparently, Deborah Brown Community School a public charter school in Tulsa, OK believes that natural hair styles such as afros, locs, etc… are faddish and unacceptable and violate the schools dress code. Parker, who’s a barber, said school officials at Deborah Brown told him Tiana’s hair didn’t look presentable. “She’s always presentable. I take pride in my kids looking nice,” said Parker. - Fox23.com As you can see here … Continue reading

Transitioning Movement by Carol’s Daughter

I am so pleased to announce that I have been selected as a contributor to TransitioningMovement.com. Transitioning Movement is an awesome site created by Carol’s Daughter. Lisa Price of Carol’s Daughter’s Products has been a pioneer and leader in the natural hair product market for years. In fact, her products were some of the first that I tried when I decided to go natural back in 2006. Realizing that there are many more layers to the natural woman besides just her hair, it’s focus is … Continue reading
