Pastor Speaks Against Women Wearing Weaves

According to AmericaPreachers.com, Waco, TX Pastor A.J. Aamir, recently told his leadership committee that they should not be wearing weaves. Apparently the pastor believes that his members are focusing too much on “…what is on their heads, instead of what is in their heads.”

“Long hair don’t care. What kind of mess is that? I don’t want my members so focused on what’s on their heads and not IN their heads” he told AmericaPreachers.com.”

Does this mean that he is requiring the women of his church to wear their hair natural? Does this then open the door for him to decide on whether they should wear their hair straight and also how they should style it?

I do believe our focus should be on our family and ourselves. However, our appearance is a big part of how woman have always been perceived. Thus our hair, clothes, style, and the way we carry ourselves all needs to be taken into consideration.

I pray people listen to the message more than the law of what he said. The message is correct but we as people don't listen to it because we stand against any law. Now some sista may need to refrain from purchasing hair and see what God is saying where there could be others that are okay to continue to purchase it. In other words are you so concerned about your hair that you are not focused on the other things God is calling you to do (i.e. pay tithes, give to the poor, be a good steward).....
