What I Learned At Type A Parent Conference

Type A Con ParticipantsThe Type A Parent Conference took place here in Atlanta and it was my first time attending. I was glad to be there as an Official Blog Partner.  The Type-A Parent Conference is The Worlds Largest Conference for Moms and Dads Who Blog. It is in it’s 6th year .  It was hosted at the beautiful Grand Hyatt in Buckhead.  I’ve been to a lot of conferences this year and I hope to attend more.  You can check out my list of conferences that I have attended or plan to attend here.  My goal in attending so many conferences is to educate myself by utilizing information given from people who are actually doing what I am doing.  Which is working as a full time blogger.

I took part in Day 1 and Day 2 of workshop/sessions only.  I was also able to enjoy the Type A con Expo.  Below are some of the things that I took away from the conference.

Think Like  RockStar –  During this keynote session with Mack Collier he stressed the importance of thanking all of our fans ALL the time and to go over board with letting them know how much we appreciate them.  I have some bigger things planned for my followers!

Act Like a CEO – Dan Morris reiterated that idea of rewarding your audience and it really sunk in.

How To be A Click Magnet – I really enjoyed David Griners session on creating killer post titles to attract your audience.  My Take Away is that my post titles are all less than exciting and I am going to work on being more creative when it comes to them.

SEO – I learned a little about SEO in the session that I attended. Not too much more than I already knew but one of my Take Aways was to go back and check my analytics for my top 100 posts and get the SEO in order for those to make them more searchable and give them better ranking with google.

Keynote Panel: Community Leaders  There was great advice given on getting by the Facebook Algorithm by being consistent and following a few simple rules methods for posting.  One of the speakers recommended we check out FeedBlitz so I hustled over to that booth first on Expo Day.

Denene Miller spoke to us about telling the hard stories and I also really enjoyed Lucrecer Braxton’s photography workshop.  All in all there was a lot to learn and I did my best to retain as much of it as I could. The Type A Expo was full of cause worthy exhibits such as St. Jude, Save The Children and KidsLink to name a few.  I learned a lot from them as well as signed up for some of their email lists for more information.  I even won a cool Christmas ornament from St. Judes!

There is always something that can be learned when you attend a conference that is filled with your peers!  I actually made a new friend that I plan to keep in touch with Shout Out to Jamie Miles of SouthMainMuse.com.  Also want to shout out my SistahFriends: @datingmyspouse @Naturalbabydol @BernettaStyle @mommyweek @MommyTalkShow @KeystrokesByKim @Coily_Locks Go follow them all on Twitter!  These chicks are going places!

Make sure you stay tuned for next years Type A Conference.  I will definitely go again!
