The Other F Word
“The Other F Word” is a dramatic comedy series that taps into an under served and under appreciated demographic: women 40+. As a woman who fits right into this demographic I was excited when I heard about this series. This quirky series is interesting and funny. It is written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Caytha Jentis.
I am glad to see a series that focuses on women in the middle of their life. As a 40+ blogger I have often written about what it’s like to be my age in a sea of millenials! Finally something that I can watch on TV that relates to my age group. Although I would have loved to see a little bit more diversity in its characters, this show does a great job of dealing with issues that affect many women over forty such as: sex, relationships, career, and yes of course, aging. Yes that’s right! WE deal with some of the same issues that many millenials feel that they are privy to. But it also deals with specific things like empty nests, midlife crisis, health issues and other topics that are important and that directly affect our generation at this point in time.

Hollywood tends to punish women for aging so I love that we have other avenues like Amazon to get our stories out there. It has an amazing cast which includes: Steve Guttenberg (Police Academy), Michael Boatman (The Good Wife), Reiko Aylesworth (24), Judy Gold (Jim Gaffigan Show) and Ben Bailey (Cash Cab). I felt like I could really relate to it.
