When i heard about the 100 Good Deeds #DeedADay Movement I could not wait to be a part of it!. The premise is simple Do 100 Good Deeds and Make a Fashion statement too! This is just the kind of resolution I like with the New Year being just around the corner. What is exactly is considered a good deed?
A good deed means we’ve gone out of our way to help someone and only counts if the good deed remains anonymous.
Created by artist, author, advocate, Mary Fisher 100 Good Deeds started off as a game, then it became a bracelet and its now a movement. It is both a fashion statement and a cause. Here is how it works. Each bracelet is made of 100 glass beads. You purchase a bracelet. Put in on and begin commiting good deeds. Each time you commit a good deed you move a rubber ring up a notch until your get to the 100th bead and mission is complete!
These bracelets are made by vulnerable women who’ve been trained for this work in Uganda, India, Indonesia, Zambia, South Africa, Rwanda and Inland Haiti. This project gives women a way to support their families through earnings while empowering them to also contribute to good deeds around the world.
The 100 Good Deeds Deed A Day Movement teaches us to be positive with one another without looking for the gratification of acknowledgement. This is an interesting concept to me in this digital age that we live in where, “likes” and “follows” rule and everyone knows what everybody else is doing. Here is how you can participate:
