My daughter and I attended the first Annual Sip N’ Paint FUNdraiser for June’s Companions. Notice that I capitalized the “FUN” in fundraiser, because that’s what this was. Founded by, CEO Stacy Dyer, June’s Companions is a non profit organization that supports women that are dealing with all stages of breast cancer. We has so much fun raising money and learning more about breast cancer and who it affects. It was held at one of my most favorite gathering spots, Wombtique, which is owned by my good friend Tanya Tibbs aka @askTanyaSmart. The proceeds from each attendee’s ticket was accepted as a donation to this wonderful charity.
We had a great time sipping wine (adults only), learning to paint and hearing all about June’s Companions and what they do for breast cancer patients.

Painting instruction was provided by Visual Artist Darcova Triplett. She did a great job of helping everyone create their own unique designs.
Together. One Team. One Fight.
There were a few ladies there who were breast cancer survivors and it was very inspiring to hear their stories of survival. June’s Companions is instrumental in assisting patients by giving them someone to lean on for total support. They have a full staff ready to provide companionship to the patients and offer assistance to their families with transportation to and from appointments and encouragement. They provide comfort and understanding with things like blankets and gift packs with everything a chemo patient needs including: Skincare supplies, anti nausea tablets and more. They gave us information on risk factors and how to do self breast exams. It was really informative.
Of course after we got all the painting and business out of the way… We had a Karaoke Dance Party! I mean what else to do after drinking all that wine!? LOL
It was a great afternoon celebrating breast cancer survivors and learning more about breast cancer awareness from June’s Companions. My daughter and I look forward to the next Sip & Paint with June’s Companions. Thanks to Stacy Dyer & Sheila Wilson for such an amazing event!
