I had a great time being a Dream Kids Ambassador for African Pride Dream Kids #KidsDreamingBig Campaign. It was fun talking about the dreams I have for my own children as well as the lifelong inspiration that I received from my own mother. The African Pride Dream Kids and fred’s Super Dollar Kids Dreaming Big Scholarship Contest kicked off back in February and ended with it’s 2nd Annual Kids Dreaming Big Meet & Greet which was hosted by Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey and her daughter Noelle Robinson along with K.97’s Big Sue.  The meet & greet was held this past weekend at the fred’s Super Dollar in Tunica, MS to award grand prize winner Madison Evans and acknowledge the additional scholarship winners from across the Southeast region. Over $2,500 in scholarships was awarded!

The “Kids Dreaming Big” Scholarship sponsored by fred’s Super Dollar Store and African Pride Dream Kids Hair Care,  was open to youth grades 3-5 encouraging the next generation to believe in the beauty of their dreams and to provide a national platform to pursue them.  Over 100 contestants submitted an essay sharing their personal endeavors and explaining the importance of pursuing their dreams.

The winners are as follows:

  • Grand Prize Winner, Madison Evans – 3rd Grade ( Baton Rouge, LA)

  • Brett Burch – 5th Grade (Washington, D.C.)
  • Chyna Baldwin – 8th Grade (Camden, MS)
  • LaDiamond White – 5th Grade (Ruston, LA)
