Before I went natural, Motions was my go to product for all of my hair care needs. The one thing that I remember loving about Motions products was always the smell. Motions CPR was one of my favorite products to use for my damaged hair. As a no heat natural I vowed that I would never apply heat or straighten my hair and I didn’t. That was until recently. In a previous post I wrote about how I ended up at a blow dry salon here in Atlanta! I was very pleased with the way my hair came out and done with minimal heat by a professional stylist. When I was asked to try out Motions® Straight Finish™ Product Line: A 3 Step Heat Styled System (for naturals) I hesitated because I’ve never actually straightened my own hair with a flat iron! I don’t even have one!
My fear of damaging my hair overwhelmed me. So instead of trying the system on my entire head, I just tried it on a section. And instead of flat ironing my hair, I used my blow dryer. This product is protein rich and infused with Shea butter, almond oil and keratin. There were 3-steps:
Step 1.
I lightly applied and rinsed the cleanser through a small section of my hair in the back. ( I love the smell of this product.)
Step 2.
I applied the leave in to that same section and I let it air dry. The conditioner was thick and creamy and smelled really good. i used a very small amount and it seemed to go a long way. I made one big twist of that section and let it air dry. Once my hair air dried it was very soft.
Step 3.
I then applied the sealer. A very very tiny amount to the small section. Its very slippery but not sticky. slick. I smoothed it on. I used my blow dryer and a comb to straighten.
End result: Since this is only the 2nd time straightening my hair in about 6 years I can only tell you what I see. My hair appears shiny, has good thickness plus body and its very soft. It also smells WONDERFUL! Whether my hair is gonna poof out or not depends a LOT on the weather, specifically the humidity levels. On this particular day it was very dry and not humid at all. My hair retained its straight texture until my next wash with minimal poofiness. The most important thing though is that my curl popped right back into place afterwards!
i think for something that you can do yourself at home the results were good. I am gonna try it on my whole head next time! The product is also very reasonably priced and a little goes a long way. This product is available online and in stores near you.
