Macy’s Celebrates #BlackHistoryMonth through Fashion: The SOUL Era!

Macy's Celebrates Black History MonthMacy’s is celebrating Black History Month this year through fashion!  At locations through out the country they will focus on fashions, styles and moods from The SOUL Era (60’s ad 70’s)  I can’t wait! As a child of the 80’s I watched my parents rock fro’s, bell bottoms, platforms and even capes during that time period.   I think the passion that I have for natural Black beauty, hair and style is a direct result of watching my beautiful mother and father.  They loved to dress.

Macy’s is bringing in celebrity stylists June Ambrose and costume designer, Johnetta Boone.  These 2 icons have worked with everyone including:  Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Will Smith, and Zoe Saldana.  They have been featured in Vogue Germany, New York Magazine, VH1 and HBO! Together they are coming to a Macy’s near you to take us on a fashion journey through the 60’s and 70’s aka The SOUL era.

Macy’s will host these FREE Events in the following cities:

  • Macy’s Lenox Square (Atlanta) – February 6, 7pm (Come on out and join me in Atlanta!)
  • Macy’s Metro Center (Washington DC) – February 12, 5:30pm
  • Macy’s State Street (Chicago) – February 19, 5:30pm

    • No purchase necessary to be a part of the conversation

Visit macys.com/celebrate through February 28th to enter for the chance to win a trip for 2 to New York City, the style capital of the world, a Macy’s shopping spree and a makeover by celebrity stylist, June Ambrose!
