Introducing The Sistah Cafe’s New Contributor – Isabelle Edwards

IsabelleI am pleased to announce that The Sistah Cafe has a new contributor! Introducing Isabelle Edwards!  Isabelle Edwards is a 20-year old college student at Brown University. She majors in English and has a love for all courses offered by the Africana Studies department. Isabelle enjoys creative writing, photography, obsessively watching natural hair tutorials on YouTube, and blogging. She has written for numerous blogs including Union College’s blog for prospective students, “Unfiltered.” She currently writes a column titled On The Brown Low for The Bruin Club, a blog dedicated to prospective and incoming Brown University students. Isabelle currently resides in Rhode Island, where there are no natural hair salons and only 1-2 places to get one’s hair braided! Because Isabelle big-chopped in August 2012 and then again in August 2013, she has spent a great amount of time learning to maintain and care for her own natural hair. She’s excited to share her natural hair journey with you! We are also excited to have Isabelle joining our team!  After visiting various HBCU’s and other campuses in Atlanta in early 2013, I was made acutely aware of some of the struggles that exist for our young ladies who are trying to remain natural while living on campus and away from home. I think that Isabelle is the perfect fit.  Please stay tuned to The Sistah Cafe for her interesting perspective on her natural hair journey! In addition to hanging out here, you can also find Isabelle on Twitter and Instagram: @Edwardzi

Isabelle’s posts will also be shared on Our Natural Kids website! Join Our Natural Kids today!
