Grey’s Anatomy tackled the topic of white parents caring for their black children’s hair in last weeks episode. I really love the way it was handled (with humor & love). For those of you who don’t watch “Grey’s”. Dr. & Mrs Shepherd (a white couple) have adopted an African American child. I appreciate that the show expanded on this often untalked about issue. I gave up cable for Lent so I was not able to watch it, but I like how Bailey told him to get it together. DO YO BABY’S HAIR! Very nice. I assume this was a daddy caring for baby episode.
If my hubby, who is black, had to do my daughters hair it would probably be the same situation!! lol. Thanks for reading!
Saw the episode and I loved it! I laughed, because as a white mommy to a biracial daughter people are often shocked that I know a little something about her hair and even more shocked when I tell them I do her hair myself. I think it’s great they made this a side story through out the whole episode.
