It’s the most wonderful time of the year…This is a true statement! I just love the Winter holidays especially Christmas, New Years & Kwanzaa. This is the BEST time of year for me and my family. Our holiday traditions includes family time, lots of food, laughter and fun. Relatives come from far and wide to join together for many meals at various designated spots. I am at my happiest when family comes home for the holidays. In my house we celebrate a Christmas that is very traditional. It starts with staying up all night prepping food and wrapping gifts on Christmas Eve, a Christmas tree decorated with new and old ornaments, prayer and Christmas dinner. We celebrate the 7 days of Kwanzaa by remembering and reciting it’s principles. We get our minds right by reminding ourselves of who we are and our greatness as a people. We also celebrate the beginning of the New Year. My house is always where the family gathers for that. We watch the ball drop on TV and enjoy Gumbo and wine by the fireplace with family as the New Year rolls in. No matter what we are doing during the holidays it always involves a LOT of people and much LOVE.
