International Women’s Day, recognized annually on March 8th, is a day celebrating the social, economic and cultural achievements of women across the globe. To celebrate, Gentleman Jack Daniels kicked off a 10 city event series called, Spirituous, a tribute to multi-cultural women leading entrepreneurship, community change, innovation and cultural advocacy. It was an honor to be invited.
International Women’s Day
The Atlanta event took place at the Twelve Hotel Autograph. Upon arrival we were treated to delicious bites, custom Jack inspired cocktails and live music.
VIP/Media started with a whisky educational experience that was presented in a “speak-easy”. We learned all about the history of Jack Daniels including the fact that the whisky making process that they used was designed and formulated by former slave and Master Distiller Nathan “Nearest” Green. Our tasting included sips of these six Jack Daniels Fine Tennessee Spirits:
Gentleman Jack
Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7
Jack Daniel’s Single Barrell Select
Jack Daniel’s Rye
Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire (My Favorite)
Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey
Each had its own individual flavor and process. My favorite was the Tennessee Fire which tastes like red hot cinnamon with the perfect amount of sweetness. The Tennessee Honey was another fav of mine. I have used it for cooking in the past. It tastes like honey with hints of molasses, chocolate and pralines.
After our tasting we mingled with other guests while we enjoyed cocktails and light bites. This was all before we were seated and served a formal, 4-course gourmet dinner, curated by none other than celebrity Chef Scottly Innis from Hell’s Kitchen and featured chef and honoree, Chef Candace Butts. Each course was infused with Gentleman Jack.

As you can see everything was served gourmet style. Every plate that came out looked like a work of art. Chef Innis introduced each course. I love trying new things. The Jamaican Jerk Octopus was new to me and I enjoyed it very much. The Spirituous Dinner Menu also had Vegan Versions of each course. It was a wonderful evening and it was an honor to be in the house with several other amazing women to be celebrated for International Women’s Day.
