Bodega Renacer Wine Tasting & Barrel Painting at Vino Venue!

The Bodega Renacer Wine Tasting and Barrel Painting Event at Vino Venue was a very unique experience! It was the total fusion of art & wine. While this is the first event of its kind in the United States, Bodega Renacer has been cultivating a relationship between wine and art in Mendoza for years.

Now in its fourth volume, the Renacer Painted Edition links art, culture and the Argentine passion for wine with the help of local artists that give new life to old wine barrels.

My team and I arrived early. We were greeted by the friendly staff at Vino Venue and presented with our Renacer Wine Coloring Books & Crayons.  The Barrel painting was already in progress.  Vino Venue is a really cool Dunwoody establishment that is actually a cooking school and wine shop.  They offer shared plates, tastings, wine by the glass and all in a terrific space surrounded by wine!

As we watched the artists paint we enjoyed light bites and tasted 7 Wines.  Light bites included Truffle Popcorn & Gourmet Cheese.  We also sampled a plate of Smoked Salmon Quesadillas which was absolutely delish.

We tasted the following 7 Wines from Bodega Renacer

2014 Renacer “Milamore” Red Blend

2014 Renacer “Punto Final” Cabernet Sauvignon

2015 Renacer “Punto Final” Malbec

2013 Punto Final “Reserva” Malbec

2014 Punto Final “Reserva” Malbec

2009 Renacer “Renacer” Malbec

2012 Renacer “Renacer” Malbec

I am generally not a fan of Red Wine.  As my palette develops, however, I am finding out that there are certain regions that produce stellar reds with sweet vibrant flavors that I love.  Bodega Renacer Wines fit the bill.  My top 2 favorites were the Milamore and the 2015 Punta Final Malbec.

The artists really got creative while painting these very large barrels.

All 3 of the barrels were raffled off.  The proceeds from 1 of the barrels went to benefit Camp Sunshine which is a camp for kids with cancer.

It was very nice to meet Mike Bryan, the owner of Vino Venue.  He was super cool and told us all about his desire to offer his guests something different.  We talked about the wine dispensers and about his goal to carry a diverse variety of great wines.  We also discussed upcoming events.
