The ATL Winter Hair Affair was definitely a night to remember! This natural hair event was presented by Pamela Jenkins, owner of Koils by Nature and hosted by none other than the #NaturalHairATLRoadTripCrew: Ericka aka @SwarthyDaisy, Kiki aka @MahoganyKnots and Stacey (me) aka @TheSistahChick.
More than 50 naturals, including one that traveled from Alabama descended on Healthy Hair Dimensions, a natural hair beauty supply store, for an evening of information, education, sisterhood and natural hair. Bling was the theme and our sisters represented!
Swarthy Daisy kicked things off with an interactive ice breaker that got everyone out of their seats!
Every guest was greeted with a swag bag that was filled to the brim with goodies for all aspects of natural hair care. Goodies included: Natural hair product samples from Jamaica Mango Lime, Africa’s Best Kids Organics, Nothing But, Sereniti, Afro Veda and the list goes on. Wine flowed all night long which was a wonderful compliment to the beautiful cupcakes from S’more Mini’s. There were also healthier choices available.
Celebrity Make Up Artist @TheMUAAlex beat the face of one lucky participant. She gave a live make up application demonstration and also taught us how to create the perfect smokey eye.
Sidenote: The lucky participant was none other than @TheLupieeChick, who I’ve been friends with on Twitter for 3 years but we had never met face to face! It was awesome to finally meet her!
There were sooo many give aways throughout the evening! Our giveaway sponsors really came through. Some of the sponsors included were: Koils by Nature, Sistah Buttah, Nothing But, Curl Collection, AfroVeda. A Huetiful Steamer was the big prize!
Kiki talked to us all about retaining moisture during the Winter Months.
The topic of my session was Protective Styling. I pulled 3 audience members and discussed their particular protective style. (photo courtesy of Koils by Nature)

Pamela Jenkins, finished with a session on the best ways to “winterize natural hair”. I learned a new term during her session! Ashy Hair – Hair that appears to be very dry.
ATL Winter Hair Affair was an amazing gathering of mostly women whose key focus was natural hair, health, styling and maintenance. Everyone had a great time, went home with awesome swag bags, and MOST also left with GREAT prizes!
