Last week Family Dollar descended on Atlanta like gang busters and partnered with 40+ bloggers from across the nation to show us everything we need to know about why they are FABULOUS! I was excited to be among the few selected from Atlanta to go along for the ride and be among the Family Dollar Fabulous (#FDFabulous) Crew. And what a ride it was. For 2 days straight we were wined and dined and given a first class tour of Atlanta AND front seat preview of all of the new things that Family Dollar is bringing to the marketplace. There was so much to do and so much to see. Even though I am an Atlanta blogger there is nothing like being treated VIP style in my own city. Before I even get started with the FABULOUS festivities, location and set up let me tell you what stood out to me as the 5 Things You Need To Know About Family Dollar!

I’ll be honest with you. Up until now I was only using Family Dollar to buy my household cleaning supplies. I had no idea that they carried well known brands like Maybelline and Cover Girl. The LA Colors line also brings its own brand of beauty with their bold lip glosses, glam lashes and vibrant eye shadows. But that’s not all because you can also get fragrances like Body Fantasies, body washes from Soft Soap and more.

#FDFabulous Day 1
The #FDFabulous event lasted for two days. The Main Events were held at the elegant Intercontinental Hotel – Buckhead. We started the 1st day with a bus tour that included a trip to a local Atlanta Family Dollar followed by a first class tour of the World of Coca Cola. It was so much fun meeting bloggers from other areas of the country.
After a lovely brunch we were whisked back the to hotel for a day of beauty and exposure to major brands that exist at Family Dollar. It was a beautiful set up and each blogger was given a chance to talk each brand. We had fun learning about them all and also being pampered at each station.
#FDFabulous Day 2
We started day 2 with a lovely garden breakfast sponsored by Ebony Magazine. It was just the perfect beginning to another fabulous day!
Immediately after breakfast was a Star studded panel of beauty experts. The panel discussion was led by Editor in Chief of Ebony Magazine, Kierna Mayo and included Singer/Rapper Chilli, TV Host Lloyd Boston, Celebrity Stylists Larry Jarah Sims, Ursula Stephens and Johnny Wright. They spoke to us about being fabulous no matter your age, size or gender. It wasnt just a one sided conversation either, bloggers were allowed to speak freely about what they wanted to see from Family Dollar. Everyone, including me, wanted Family Dollar to recognize all of us as their demographic customers and not just skinny millenials!!
It was a star studded day! I was especially happy to finally meet Ursula Stephens a celebrity natural hair stylist whose skills I have covered in a previous post. Everyone was so friendly.
We continued our schedule of brand meetings and pampering. I got my nails done. I had pink hair added at Luster Pink. Creme of Nature had an artist doing caricatures. I received a set of lashes. I won a 3 month supply of hair products from African Pride as well as gift cards from Family Dollar. And the swag… Oh my goodness the swag!
Family Dollar showed us a FABulous time! I learned a lot about the company and the brands that they carry. THis was indeed the beauty event of the year. I now know a lot more about Family Dollar. Follow the #FDFabulous hashtag for posts from my fellow blogging sisters about this event.
