37th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival 2014

37th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival

We ALWAYS have a great time at the Atlanta Jazz Festival and this year was no different.  It’s Memorial Day Weekend.  The Spring temps in Atlanta was perfect for a leisurely stroll from the Marta station to Piedmont Park.  I just LOVE this time of year.  Its a time to gather, relax, kick back and enjoy the sounds of the the Atlanta Jazz Festival.  We were first timers last year but this year we were ready with cooler, umbrella’s and chairs.  It was my husband and I and our daughter, plus I got my mom and my sister involved this year.

We went on Sunday evening about an hour before dusk.  I always enjoy watching the sun setting over the crowds.  I also love to hear the smooth jazz sounds coming from the stage.   We got even more out of this year since my baby girl has recently started to learn to play the Alto Sax.  She reads music and really understood where the musicians were coming from.  I always say that the walk to the festival is also a part of all the festivities!  This year we saw MJ!

It is a wonderful celebration of music and culture and I was glad to be able to share it with my family.  Even though we got caught in the rain while walking back to the Marta station no one complained.  People were still laughing and not even running but just walking in the rain.  That’s what its like when you attend the Atlanta Jazz Festival you forget about the little things and just enjoy life!  See you all next year!

Have you ever been to the Atlanta Jazz Festival?
