3 Things to LOVE About Taste Of Atlanta #TasteOfAtlanta

Taste of Atlanta hit our fair city in October.  This annual food event brings together culinary professionals from all over metro Atlanta for 3 days of festival style fun.  There was so much to see and do and taste.  With over 90 restaurants and 3 LIVE Food stages it is easy to see why this is Atlanta’s “must do” food, wine, beer and cocktail event.  As soon as I arrived I “scoped” out the entire scene.  (no pun intended)

It would take me all day to tell you everything that I loved about attending my very first Taste of Atlanta so I had to narrow down to the 3 Things that I loved the most.

3 Things to Love About Taste of Atlanta

Location, Location, Location

You don’t have a great event unless the location is perfect.  I am choosing to focus on this as one of the first things to love about Taste of Atlanta because of that importance.  This years event was located in Atlanta’s Historic Old Fourth Ward.  This area is South of Ponce City Market and West of Atlanta’s Belt Line.  It was the perfect location for this event because of its central location and accessibility.  It is full of walking paths, trails and even a waterfall.  It made noshing through Taste of Atlanta fun and it served as the perfect backdrop for all of the delicious and wonderful food.

Food & Drink Options

With over 99 restaurants in attendance, there was something for everyone.  It didn’t matter if your preference is for the healthy or the decadent but not so healthy. Whether you are a meat eater, vegetarian or vegan there was something for you. It really was a grand tasting experience.  Speaking of… lets discuss some of what I tasted.

My favorite taste was this awesome Trio from Jim & Nick’s BBQ.  BBQ Chicken, Collard Green and Cheesy Biscuits.

I’m a fan of bacon all day.  I enjoyed the Bacon Bloody Mary’s at Smithfields and the Bacon covered donuts from Bon Glaze!

There were so many other delectable things that i adore like, Low Country Boil, Real Fruit Slushies, Mediterranean Pizza, Pulled Pork.  Oh My!  You really need to have an empty stomach before you come here!

Technology

So much food and so little time.  This leads to me to my third thing to love.  The use of Technology.  Taste of Atlanta invited some of Atlanta’s top Food Bloggers to attend and they did so with the intent that we would use our social platforms to share live coverage of the entire event.  Through our devices we spread the word.  From the activated wrist bracelets to the Loading Stations everything was high tech and organized.  Upon purchasing your wrist bracelet you are eligible to buy “food points”.   Food points work like credits and can be used for tasting at various booths.  Honestly, I ate so much food from so many places there would be no way I could remember it all.  Remembering is not a problem because our wrist bracelets were used to collect data and track each taste.  This gives me an awesome list of eateries to visit later.

I love how they tied all of these important things together to make this celebration of food a memorable one.  There was so much more too like the Live Cooking Classes and Demos.  Can we talk about the portable bathroom for a minute?  It was nice, clean and came complete with a bathroom attendant!  Taste of Atlanta was great foodie fun and I cannot wait to attend this must-do Atlanta event next year!

What was your favorite part about Taste of Atlanta?
